Freyja Viking is one of five PSVs currently operated from Aberdeen
FEBRUARY 13, 2015 — Rederi AB Transatlantic says that its Copenhagen, Denmark, headquartered Viking Supply Ships A/S business will close down its Aberdeen, Scotland, office with effect from July 1, 2015.
Viking Supply Ships (VSS) fleet consists of three AHTS/icebreakers, four ice classed AHTS along with one conventional AHTS and five modern PSVs that have been operated by the Aberdeen office.
Viking Supply Ships says the decision to shutter the Aberdeen office is a direct result of the current weak market for PSVs.
All administrative functions will be absorbed by the head office in Copenhagen and the company says it “will enter into consultation with affected staff in the Aberdeen office.”
Viking Supply Ships says it will keep the existing crew composition on the PSVs.
