
DSME wins gas carrier orders worth $640 million

FEBRUARY 24, 2014 — South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., the world’s second-largest shipbuilder, has won orders for eight gas tankers worth a total $640 million from two Asian shipowners.
Yonhap news agency reports that the shipbuilder will deliver the ships by the second half of 2016.
DSME says that so far this year it has won orders for 14 vessels worth a combined $1.44 billion.
