USNS Leroy Grumman (T-AO 195) [U.S. navy contract]
East Coast Repair & Fabrication LLC, Portsmouth, Va., has been awarded an $8,719,597 firm-fixed-price contract (N3220522C4198) for an 85-calendar day shipyard availability. The contract is for the mid-term availability of the Military Sealift Command’s fleet oiler USNS Leroy Grumman (T-AO 195).
This contract includes a base period and four options, which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to $9,006,443.
The contract was a small business set-aside with proposals solicited via the Government Point of Entry website and six offers received.
“This will be a great way to start the new year with the work starting on January 5, 2022, for an 85-day availability at our Newport News facility,” says the yard in a LinkedIn post. “We look forward to fostering our good working relationship with MSC and to successfully returning the vessel to the fleet.”
