Written by Nick Blenkey AUGUST 22, 2012 — China’s COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of COSCO Shipyard Group Co. Ltd., has secured a contract valuedat over $20 million from BAM International Australia and Clough Projects Australia for construction of a jack-up barge.
AUGUST 22, 2012 — China’s COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of COSCO Shipyard Group Co. Ltd., has secured a contract valuedat over $20 million from BAM International Australia and Clough Projects Australia for construction of a jack-up barge.
It is scheduled for delivery from the shipbuilder in eleven months time..
The jack-up barge will be built to Gusto MSC SEA-1250 design and have capacity for a 300 tons deck crane and will be capable of operating at 30 meters water depth. .
BAM International already owns one SEA-1250 jack-up barge (pictured at left) which a BAM-Clough joint venture has been using on the Pluto LNG terminal project.
