ordered by SBM Offshore N.V. in April.
The contract includes the vessel’s main power generation system, the Wärtsilä Low Loss Concept full electric and automation system, and a complete integrated propulsion system. The vessel will operate on marine diesel oil (MDO). Wärtsilä will deliver the systems during the beginning of 2012, and the ship is scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2013.
The system features the patented Low Loss Concept and the ECOMeter, which is part of the Wärtsilä Integrated Automation System. This estimates fuel consumption and advises on the optimal means of operating the vessel in order to save fuel and the environment. “Our expert know-how on efficient systems with maximum redundancy is the key to our success in ship systems.
