
Yantai CIMC Raffles books jack-up orders

Friede & Goldman JU2000E jack-up
JANUARY 13, 2014 — China’s Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Limited has secured an order from Central Shipping Monaco (CSM) to build two Friede & Goldman JU2000E jack-up drilling rigs. The two rigs are scheduled to be delivered at the end of 2015.In addition, CSM has options to build up to another four similar jack-up rigs with CIMC Raffles.
The rigs will be equipped with BLM jacking systems and Aker drilling packages.
Central Shipping Monaco says the Friede & Goldman JU-2000E, operational in 400 ft water depth, 15k BOP jack-up, represents the latest generation of high efficiency jack-ups suitable for operations worldwide. The rig offers numerous improvements including increased deck-space compared to other designs, accommodations for 150 men, the ability to jack with 100% preload, optimized pipe handling to facilitate “off-line” stand-building, more powerful mud pumps and a dual mud system which will allow for the efficient and simultaneous handling of drilling and completion fluids. It is built to PEMEX requirements and is certified as environmentally friendly.
