Ovation of the Seas in the covered building dock
FEBRUARY 16, 2016 — Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas is set to be floated out of covered building dock at Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany, on Thursday, February 18, after only 18 months under construction.
The 168,666-gt, 4,180 passenger cruise ship is the third ship in Royal Caribbean’s Quantum ClassOver the last few weeks the shipbuilder has been busy conducting extensive tests, interior work and machinery trials.
The float-out will commence around 12.30 p.m., subject to weather conditions.
Following the float-out and further tests, the ship will be berthed alongside the shipyard’s outfitting pier.
