DeWitt to present on cybersecurity demystification for small ferry fleets

Cris DeWitt, managing director of Cyber Mariner, an operational technology (OT) cybersecurity company that serves the maritime industry, will present on the topic of “Cybersecurity Demystification for Small Ferry Fleets” at the upcoming FERRIES 2020 free virtual conference taking place November 9-10 from 1 to 4 p.m. EST.

DeWitt will touch on some cybersecurity risk-based core principles that ferry operators should know about as ferry fleets become more computer-controlled or digitally enabled. When these cybersecurity practices are implemented now, they can contribute to the reliability and integrity of fleet operations.

In his role at Cyber Mariner, DeWitt is primarily focused on cybersecurity for high consequence maritime assets, and 2021 IMO compliance. Assets include ultra-deep-water drilling rigs, OSVs, ferries, containerships, tankers, and LNG vessels.

With more than 25 years of professional experience in the technology and cybersecurity fields and was recently named as a co-inventor on an ABS patent for a game-changing cyber risk model.
