Ceres Barge Line launched Big Hope 1 in 2012 -a portion of its net earnings support Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center
This year’s annual Pushing Hope Annual Marine Industry Charity Tournament is set for August 15, 16 and 17 in St. Louis.
The tournament is held in support of the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center and is hosted by Ceres Barge Line, whose fleet includes the pink barge Big Hope 1. Ceres built the barge back in 2012 and painted it pink to raise awareness of the need for cancer research. A portion of its net earnings go to the Mary Crowley Center.
The event includes a range of networking and activities such as a seafood boil, golf scramble, softball, kickball and 5K run/walk.
