MARITIME INSPECTOR

 

The successful candidate will support the Offshore Manager in his inspection and technical activities as required. Will be responsible for conducting annual and special inspections of Marshall Islands flag vessels as directed by the Baltimore office, primarily in the Houston/Galveston area and throughout the Gulf of Mexico. Will conduct marine casualty investigations; and respond to Inspections and Technical inquiries as directed.

Job Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will be currently employed in the marine industry, preferably as a surveyor/inspector/auditor.
  • Familiarity with maritime regulatory body Rules and Regulations, particularly with the port state control regime.
  • Previous experience in a senior sea going capacity would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Effective organizational skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Maritime or related degree.

     

    Training for the successful candidate focusing on inspection, administration and technical procedures will be given. It will also include a period of observed inspections on Marshall Islands flagged vessels.
