CSOV was launched at Gondan’s Figueras, Spain, shipyard at high tide on May 26

Spain’s Gondan Shipyard has launched the first in the series of four Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) it is building for Edda Wind AS, the offshore wind segment of Norway’s Østensjø Group.

Designed by Salt Ship Design, the CSOV has a length of 88.3 meters and a beam of 19.7 meters and, with the support funding from Norwegian government agency Enova SF, is prepared for the future installation of zero-emission hydrogentechnology.

Providing accommodations for 120 people (93 technicians and 27 crewmembers), the vessel will go on charter to Ocean Breeze during its operations at the Bard Offshore 1 wind farm in Germany.

It will be equipped with a 3D motion compensated crane and a motion compensated gangway with a maximum range of 28 meters for personnel transfer and an integrated elevator with capacity up to 26 persons.
