LNG fueled Pasha pair will have TMC compressed air systems

JUNE 22, 2018 — Oslo, Norway, headquartered TMC Compressors of the Seas (TMC) has signed a contract to supply complete marine compressed air systems for the two LNG-fueled Jones Act containerships under construction at the Keppel AmFELS shipyard in Brownsville, TX, for Pasha Hawaii.

TMC’s scope of work is to supply a complete marine compressed air system to each of the the two vessels, including control and service air compressors plus refrigerant air dryer. The company’s contract value is undisclosed.

Set for delivery in the first and third quarters of 2020, the 774-foot vessels will carry 2,525 TEUs, including a fully laden capacity of 500 45-foot containers, 400 refrigerated containers, and 300 40-foot dry containers.

According to Pasha Hawaii, the new vessels will operate fully on LNG from day one in service, significantly reducing environmental impact and increasing fuel efficiency. Energy savings will also be achieved with an optimized hull form and an underwater propulsion system with a high-efficiency rudder and propeller.
