FERRIES 2020 topics will include a focus on women in the passenger vessel industry

Kasey Eckstein is founder and executive director of WIMOs (Women in Maritime Operations)

Kasey Eckstein, director of business development for Atlas Marine Services, will be among the speakers at Marine Log’s upcoming virtual FERRIES 2020 event being held November 9 and 10. In addition to her role at Atlas, Eckstein is founder and executive director of WIMOs (Women in Maritime Operations) and her topic will be how to increase diversity in the passenger vessel industry. She will also address retention of women in the industry and the importance of marine education for women.

Speaking alongside Eckstein is Morgan Mooney, captain of a ferry for Fire Island Ferries in New York.

Morgan Mooney is a full-time employee for her family’s business, Fire Island Ferries.  Currently, her responsibilities include managing the company’s social media platforms as the Media Director, maintaining the company’s insurance claims and policies, and is an active captain on the passenger ferries.
