J-ENG wins first 6UEC45LSE-C1 order

OCTOBER 2, 2017 — Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG) has received its first order for a 6UEC45LSE-C1 engine. It will be installed in a RO/RO vessel which will be built at Kanda Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

Japan Engine Corporation (J-ENG) is the former Kobe Diesel. which changed its corporate name earlier this year following its acquisition of the marine engine business of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Marine Machinery division.

The UEC45LSE engine type has been under development since 2004, backed by extensive market research, and is aimed at the RO/RO vessel, handy-sized bulker and small chemical tanker market segments.

With features being continuously upgraded in response to customer feedback, more than 250 UEC45LSE engines have been accumulated.

The newly ordered UEC45LSE-C1 engine has a higher output than the latest UEC45LSE-B2 type engine.
