Chouest gets $11.7 million Navy contract mod

Edison Chouest group member Alpha Marine Services LLC, Galliano, La., has been awarded an $11,710,536 contract modification to fund the first one-year option period for the charter hire of U.S.-flagged Maritime Support Vessel M/V Kellie Chouest in support of U.S. Southern Command.

The contract includes a 12-month base period, three 12-month option periods, and one 11-month option period, which, if exercised, would bring its cumulative value of this contract to $57,464,816.

Work will be performed at sea, and if all options are exercised work will be completed by April 30, 2023.

Fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $11,710,536 are obligated at the time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with proposals solicited via the Federal Business Opportunities website, with three offers received.

The Navy’s Military Sealift Command, Norfolk, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
