USCG holds Subchapter M outreach forum in Portland

AUGUST 19, 2016 — The new Subchapter M regulations that will come into force in the summer of 2018 establish new requirements for the design, construction, onboard equipment and operation of towing vessels.

The U.S. Coast Guard is holding a series of national outreach forums designed to educate towing vessel operators on the new regulations.

The second of these forums was held earlier this week in Portland, OR, and included a field dry dock examination conducted by Marine Inspectors from Marine Safety Unit (MSU) Portland.
