Island Offshore orders PSV pair at STX OSV

JUNE 29, 2012 — Island Offshore, in which the Chouest and Ulstein families are partners, has ordered two platform supply vessels from STX OSV. The vessels will be of Rolls-Royce’s UT 717 CD design. The overall length of each will be 84.3 meters with a beam of 17 meters, and the deadweight will be approximately 3,800 DWT.

According to STX OSV, the total value of the contracts amounts to approximately NOK 500 million (about $83 million).

Deliveries are scheduled from STX OSV’s Brevik shipyard in Norway in fourth quarter 2013 and second quarter 2014. The hulls of the vessels will be delivered from the shipbuilder’s yard in Braila in Romania.
