Eidesvik books its second offshore wind contract

JUNE 13, 2016 — Norway’s Eidesvik Offshore has won an offshore wind market contract for its subsea vessel Viking Poseidon,which has been in lay-up since its previous charterer, Harkand, went into administration.

The new contract is with Siemens Wind Power to support its operations in the German sector. Contract commencement will be in June this year.

The Viking Poseidon will commence on a contract for Siemens Wind Power with estimated duration for three to five months including options.

Eidesvik says that offshore wind is a strategic area of business and that this its second contract in the segment.

“We are very pleased that Siemens, for the second time, awards us a contract in this interesting market”, says President & CEO Jan Fredrik Meling.
