Ecuador crewboats built with Incat Crowther design and kit

APRIL 27, 2016 — Incat Crowther, Lafayette, LA, is providing Guayaquil, Ecuador, shipbuilder Astinave EP with design services and aluminum component kits for a pair of 22.5 m monohull crewboats that are currently under construction for an undisclosed client. The vessels will operate in support of Ecaudor’s state-owned oil and gas company, Flota Petrolera Ecuatoriana (Flopec).

The supply of the aluminum kits is another capability offered by Incat Crowther outside of its proven vessel design capabilities. The kits were processed by U.S.-based suppliers and shipped sea-freight from Houston to Guayaquil.
Completion of the vessels is scheduled for October.

The 20-knot crewboats feature modern styling combined with a robust and simple-to-build structure.

Propulsion is by two Cummins QSK19 marine engines rated at 750 bhp @ 1,800 rpm driving Teignbridge fixed pitch NiBrAl propellers. Electrical power is supplied by two Cummins 55MDDCM generator sets each rated at 55 ekW @ 1800 rpm.

Tank capacities include 11,000 liters of fuel oil and 7,000 liters of potable water.

The crew accommodations, ahead of the engine room, feature private staterooms for three crew, each with a locker cabinet for storage. A galley, mess area and washroom complete the crew accommodations.

The main deck includes a generous 40 sq. m cargo deck covered in hardwood planking and a passenger cabin featuring twenty five seats, two water closets, luggage shelves, two PFD storage lockers, and a deck locker.On the upper deck, the pilothouse provides forward and aft facing helm positions and a chart table. Two inflatable life rafts are located are aft of the wheelhouse and are arranged for easy launching.
