TTB 2024: Navigating today’s barge rates

Accurately and quickly estimating the costs of barge rates can be difficult for a multitude of reasons. To help inland and coastal shippers better understand today’s market, Jason Aristides, CEO of OpenTug, will present on navigating today’s barge rates at TTB (Tugs, Towboats & Barges) 2024 on March 6 in Mobile, Ala.

OpenTug is the first digital shipping network built to connect freight with barges and terminals nationwide. During his presentation, Aristides will go into more depth on how to better predict costs more efficiently, in less time and with a better bottom line for shippers.

Aristides has over four years of experience in the maritime industry at companies, such as Foss and Curtin Maritime. His industry expertise paired with his over five years of software development experience inspired the creation of OpenTug. Today, he leads the OpenTug team toward a future of innovation with input from customers and users to continue to pioneer improvements.

ABOUT TTB 2024

The U.S. tugboat, towboat and barge industry may already be the safest, most environmentally friendly, and most economical mode of freight transportation, but it is faced with the challenge of making a transition to a low-carbon future. While some companies are making it work, others question the reality of doing so in light of other issues impacting their bottom line.
