NASSCO-Norfolk gets $42.1 million Navy contract mod

JULY 20, 2016 — General Dynamics, NASSCO-Norfolk shipyard (formerly Metro Machine Corp.), Norfolk, VA, is being awarded a $42,129,117 cost-plus-award-fee modification to previously awarded contract N00024-10-C-4401, for the accomplishment of repairs and alterations for USS Oak Hill (LSD-51) non dry-docking, fiscal 2016 phased maintenance availability scheduled availability.

NASSCO-Norfolk will provide ship repair services such as engine replacement/repairs, ballast tank preservations, habitability upgrades and close-in weapons system repairs.

Work will be performed in Norfolk and is expected to be completed by April 2017.

Fiscal 2016 other procurement (Navy) funding; fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance (Navy) funding; and fiscal 2016 other revolving funds in the amount of $21,064,559 will be obligated at time of award, and funds in the amount of $19,834,393 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, Portsmouth, VA, is the administrative contracting activity.
