FEBRUARY 9, 2016 — Norwegian offshore service vessel specialist Eidesvik has chartered its subsea vessel Acergy Viking to Siemens Wind Power for nine months as an accommodation and service vessel in German sector.

Eidesvik says it has for some time looked into offshore wind as a strategic business segment and has now secured the first contract within this segment.

The vessel will undertake a short mobilization, which includes installing an offshore gangway system, prior the commencement of the contract in August.

“I am pleased with our organizations ability to adapt to a new marked and that we now will enter a new business segment with one of our existing subsea vessels. The Acergy Viking has been in lay-up for a short period and we are glad that she will be out in operation again.” says Eidesvik CEO Jan Fredrik Meling.
