Wärtsilä unveils new PSV design at Nor-Shipping

JUNE 1, 2015 — Wärtsilä is launching a new Platform Supply Vessel ship design at this year’s Nor-Shipping exhibition being held in Oslo from June 2 to 5.

The new design builds on Wärtsilä’s extensive track record in the PSV segment, and puts the emphasis on increased cost efficiency, innovation and reducing environmental risk.

The design offers significantly lower fuel consumption when compared to existing PSV’s on the market. Key improvements include an efficient energy system with batteries, and optimized hull lines with high propeller efficiency.
Other important features include an optimized superstructure and engine room, and an accommodations arrangement that promotes cost efficient shipyard construction.

The design is in line with the future regulations for carriage of up to 1,200 cu.m of type II chemicals, and has improved visibility from the bridge, reduced noise and vibration, and a main deck design that optimizes the deck cargo area.
