Damen delivers the second of two Mamola PSVs

Mamola Defender naming ceremony

SEPTEMBER 24, 2015 — Following a naming ceremony in Barcelona, Spain, yesterday, Promar Shipping Services has taken delivery of Mamola Defender. the second of two Damen PSV 3300 platform supply vessels ordered in January 2014.

The first vessel, Mamola Reliance, was delivered in February 2015 and is currently in service, in the West African market, where this second vessel is alsp expected to operate.

During the construction of the vessel, Promar had a team based in Romania to supervise the project with the shipbuilder.  

“There was a fruitful collaboration between the Promar team and Damen,” said Jérôme Bouchardy, Head of Projects and Commercial Manager at Geneva, Switzerland, headquartered Promar. “Thanks to the great professionalism of all teams, as well as Damen’s excellent production capabilities, the project went well and was delivered on time. We are very proud to manage such a beautiful vessel. Like her sister ship, Mamola Reliance, she has been designed and built to fulfill the highest requirements of the offshore industry. She features a broad package of options and is SPS compliant, offering therefore additional flexibility for clients.”

The 80 m Damen PSV 3000 series vessels offer a deck area of 720 sq.m and a deadweight of 3,300 t.
