PSV newbuild being transformed into expedition yacht

Vard 1-08 Kilkea's exterior design is by Bannenberg & Rowell Design

APRIL 27, 2016 — A Vard 1-08 currently under construction at one of Vard’s Norwegian shipyards is being offered for sale not as PSV, but as a high end expedition yacht.

The 82 m Vard 1-08 Kilkea is being created by the shipbuilder in collaboration with Shackleton Superyachts and is being offered through Edmiston & Company.

Edmiston says the vessel will be launched in 2016, with an open plan interior ready to be customized to owner’s wishes, accommodating up to 36 guests.

Edmiston describes the Kilkea as “bestowed with seakeeping abilities affording the upmost safety and comfort, capable of traversing into unchartered waters for 30 days at a time without stocking up on supplies. The exterior styling is by Bannenberg & Rowell Design, and expansive interior and deck spaces provide ample salons, dining, relaxing and activity areas including a golf range, tennis court and indoor garden.”

The Vard 1-08 Kilkea is certified for environmentally friendly operation, and has been developed to focus on low fuel consumption.

• Indoor and outdoor swimming pools
• Submarine dock
• Underwater observation room
• 5-a-side football pitch
• 3d and Imax cinema and outdoor cinema
