Damen Shipyards Group has signed a contract to supply the Port Authority of Jamaica (PAJAM) with a Utility Vessel 3911 that will be used for buoy-laying and maintenance support operations.

The UV 3911 is a 39.4 meter x 10.8 meter vessel built to carry a crew of twelve. It will feature an A-frame with a 50 tonne capability and a towing winch, remotely operable from the wheelhouse. It will be outfitted at Damen Maaskant Shipyard Stellendam in the Netherlands. Delivery is scheduled for 2021.

Damen’s long relationship with PAJAM stretches back to the 1990s, when the port authority placed orders with Damen for two Stan Tugs 2909. This was followed, more recently, by orders for two Pilot Vessels 1605.

PAJAM’s Captain Hopeton Delisser, says “the success of these past deliveries that made PAJAM continue its business relationship with Damen.”
