PBC acquires 48 MW gas turbine power barge

DECEMBER 12, 2018 — Dave Nickerson, President of Houston, TX, headquartered Power Barge Corporation (PBC) reports that the company has acquired a 48 MW gas turbine power barge.

The power barge has a 48 MW Siemens Westinghouse 251B11/12 gas turbine geared to generate power at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. It is currently operating at 50 Hz, with a 33 kV output, on distillate fuels, but can be reconfigured for fuel oil and/or natural gas/propane.

The power barge has approximately 30 K operating hours. A full hot gas path inspection has been performed with only 20 test hours post overhaul. New control systems have been installed, and the power barge has been drydocked and fully refurbished.

This 48 MW gas turbine power barge is currently for sale or lease.
