Norden to class entire fleet with LR

JUNE 17, 2015 — Copenhagen, Denmark, based Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S, based in Copenhagen, has contracted classification society LR to class 57 ships, including the full Norden fleet and other externally managed Norden owned ships.

The agreement covers transfer of class (ToC) of 32 of the ships, including nine newbuilds that will transfer to LR on delivery. Four ships are currently classed by LR and 16 externally managed ships will also be transfered.

The ToC of Norden’s fleet started with the entry of product tanker Nord Mermaid into LR class.
