NASSCO Earl gets $82.4 million more for Ike drydocking

NASSCO EARLAUGUST 12, 2013 — General Dynamics-NASSCO Earl Industries, Portsmouth, Va., is being awarded an $82,481,992 undefinitized contract action as a modification to a previously awarded contract (N00024-11-C-4303) for the USS Eisenhower (CVN 69) fiscal 2013 drydocking planned incremental availability.

The following ship alterations will be accomplished: aircraft electrical servicing system station to radar tower; emergency diesel generator 3 and 4 exhaust; disposable air filter outfitting mod; aqueous film forming foam fire extinguisher installation; install 50-man life raft (port side); aviation engine hatch platform modification; remove an accommodation ladder; upgrade security department facilities; upgrade ready room security stowage; medical sterilizer upgrade; close-in weapon system sponson support.

Work will be performed in Portsmouth, Va., and is expected to be completed by November 2014.

Fiscal 2013 operations and maintenance, Navy funds in the amount of $61,861,494 will be obligated at time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Norfolk Ship Support Activity, Norfolk, Va., is the administrative contracting activity.
