MSC Cruises orders two mega ships at STX France

FEBRUARY 1, 2016 — MSC Cruises has exercised an option at STX France added two 6,300 passenger cruise ships, worth a total $1.74 billion, to the two 4,500 passenger vessels it already has on order at the French shipbuilder.

To be known as the Meraviglia Plus class, at 331 m the mega ships will be 16 meters longer than the Meraviglia ships currently on order at the shipyard and will have 200 additional cabins,

The Meraviglia Plus ships are planned for deliveries in November 2019 and April 2020.

New features will include the first fine art museums at sea, featuring original artworks.
