Seattle-based deck machinery specialist Markey Machine LLC has appointed Eric Rose as its president. He comes to the company with extensive leadership experience in the commercial marine and heavy industrial sectors, most recently as senior director, commercial operations at Crowley, working closely with vessel design and engineering, infrastructure projects, fleet operations, and vessel construction management teams.

Prior to Crowley, Rose served as director of business development at Global Diving & Salvage, where he supported complex salvage, marine construction, and emergency response operations along the U.S. coastline and internationally.

Earlier in his career, Rose worked in fleet operations and industrial equipment manufacturing with NC Machinery, representing Caterpillar Inc. and Weiler Products.

“Everything Markey Machine stands for starts with quality, accountability, and a commitment to the customer,” said Rose. “That reputation was earned the hard way, over more than a century of building equipment by craftsmen who take pride in what leaves the shop floor. My focus is on strengthening that foundation and carrying it forward.”

“Eric understands this industry from the inside out,” said Blaine Dempke, CEO of Markey. “He has worked alongside the operators, engineers, and project teams who depend on equipment performing under real operating conditions. That experience makes him exceptionally well-suited to lead Markey.”

Founded in 1907, Markey designs, fabricates, assembles, and tests its product line in Seattle, Washington, supported by a skilled workforce of engineers, machinists, welders, and assemblers working in partnership with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. Its product line includes high-performance deck machinery and oceanographic handling systems for commercial, research, and naval vessels worldwide.
