Inmarsat enters Fleet Xpress strategic partnerships

JUNE 13, 2016 — Inmarsat  has entered into two into a strategic partnerships.

One is with  leading maritime communication and maritime VSAT operator Marlink, and will see Inmarsat’s new Fleet Xpress service integrated into Marlink’s existing service portfolio. Through the agreement, Marlink will bring more than two thousand vessels to thre Fleet Xpress service over a five-year period.

The other strategic partnership is with SpeedCast International (ASX: SDA), a leading providers of high-speed broadband connectivity to the maritime industry,

The agreement positions Fleet Xpress service  as a key service within Speedcast’s maritime services portfolio, being fully integrated with is existing maritime SIGMA gateway and other Value Added Services.

Over the next five years, SpeedCast has committed to roll out Fleet Xpress to approximately two thousand vessels.Inmarsat says that Fleet Xpress sets “a new standard in broadband maritime communications, delivering the highest levels of reliable high speed broadband connectivity and exceptional performance across all of the world’s oceans as well as facilitating innovative Connected Ship applications.”
