International maritime law firm Hill Dickinson has made a trio of high level appointments, hiring Master Mariner Kevin Austin, Korean market specialist Beth Bradley, and transactional lawyer Sung Hwan Choi.

Austin, currently a Legal Director with Norton Rose, is especially well known in the London Hull Market. He will join Hill Dickinson as a Legal Director in London, following a rearrangement of the firm’s mariner team that sees Joe Quain return from Singapore as a Consultant in London as Ian MacLean heads out to join the team in Singapore.

Julian Clark, Hill Dickinson Global Head of Shipping, commented: “Hill Dickinson now has one of world’s most significant teams of Master Mariners, with eight spread across our global offices, meaning we are able to deal with casualties around the world as and when needed.”

Bradley joins Hill Dickinson’s London offices from Clyde & Co as a Partner. Known for her work on numerous high-profile disputes and litigations, she has a wealth of international maritime experience and a specific interest in the Korean market,

Choi (known as SD Choi) joins as a Partner in Hill Dickinson’s Singapore office. Currently of Counsel with Norton Rose, he is a well-known and highly recognized transactional lawyer who is qualified in England & Wales, the U.S.A. and the Marshall Islands.

Confirming his appointment, Julian Clark commented: “The appointment of SD Choi considerably strengthens our international transactional team, particularly following the recruitment last year of Jasel Chauhan and his team into our Athens office.”

He concluded: “Maritime law is now very much part of international commerce. Hill Dickinson is committed to enhancing our service provision and adapting to modern maritime needs to meet our customer requirements in this increasingly complex and technological age.”
