Fincantieri inks agreement with Vittoria Shipyard

OCTOBER 30, 3014 – Shipbuilding giant Fincantieri has signed a cooperation arrangement with a somewhat smaller Italian player, Vittoria Shipyard. Based in Adria, about midway between Venice and Ravenna, the shipyard is located on the Canal Bianco, which connects Milan to the Adriatic, and specializes in vessels up to 100 m long. Its product range includes patrol craft, tugboats, fishing vessels and river dredges.

Signed at this week’s Euronaval event by Paolo Frino, Senior VP After Sale and Services of Fincantieri Naval Vessel Business Unit, and Luigi Duó, Chairman of Vittoria Shipyard, the cooperation agreement includes the development, promotion and sale on foreign markets of patrol vessels and small and medium size cargo ships, aiming at enhance the sharing of knowledge and skills between the two groups.

According to Fincantieri, the agreement reinforces its competitive market position worldwide by widening the range of products offered while Vittoria Shipyard can benefit by sharing with Fincantieri and enhancing its expertise, competencies and management skills.
