Bulker hits Brooklyn Bridge
Written by Marine Log StaffNOVEMBER 9, 2014 — The light mast of the 34,627-DWT Gibraltar-registered bulk carrier Rainbow Quest struck the underside of the Brooklyn Bridge on November 7 while the ship was traveling down the East River, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. There was no damage to the iconic bridge nor injuries reported.
The bulker is managed by Marine Capital Limited (MCL) of London, which describes itself as “a specialist shipping asset manager providing direct shipping investment strategies for institutional investors.”
The ship involved was not the tanker Rainbow Quest, as earlier reported,
