Stingray340x255APRIL 30, 2013 — Victoria, B.C. headquartered Edoc Systems Group, developers of Helm Marine Operations Software (Helm), reports that Bordelon Marine, Houma, La., has chosen Helm HSQE Manager and Helm Onboard to manage its vessel maintenance, safety, and compliance. Helm Onboard will be installed on all Bordelon vessels, but the first installation will be on the new Stingray series 260 ft class DP2 OSV, which is slated for sea trials in May 2013.

“State-of-the-art equipment, excellent service, safe operations and solid ethics are the cornerstones of Bordelon Marine. So partnering with Edoc and Helm was an easy decision,” said Wes Bordelon, President and CEO of Bordelon. “Helm is state-of-the-art on-vessel and compliance software designed for our industry, which allows us to maintain our leadership position for quality and safety in the marine transportation sector.”

Edoc Systems says that Helm, which is approaching its 15th anniversary, will “provide a digitized layer of efficiency to Bordelon’s already exceptional safety record.”

The software, says Edoc, provides a central system for Bordelon to manage its inspections and audits as well as any deficiencies, non-conformities, or observations that may arise. To assist vessel crew with the mounting administrative duties onboard the vessels, Helm will provide full synchronization with Bordelon’s vessels to share changes to standard operation procedures and close the loop on maintenance requests and other compliance-related items.

Ron deBruyne, CEO and Founder of Edoc Systems Group said he was excited to be partnering with Bordelon Marine. “We are inspired to work with companies like Bordelon who want to stay on the forefront of safety and compliance in marine transportation,” said deBruyne. “That’s one of the main reasons we developed Helm – to help make the marine transportation industry safer.”

Mr. deBruyne also said that Helm will be expanding into the offshore supply vessel market both internationally and in North America.
