Registration is now open for Marine Log’s annual TTB — Tugs, Towboats & Barges — conference, the only event dedicated exclusively to the tug, towboat and barge segments of the U.S. maritime transportation industry.

This year, TTB will be presented in partnership with the American Waterways Operators (AWO). AWO’s President and CEO Jennifer Carpenter will be keynoting the event.

The annual conference, known for its expert headliners and a focus on everything from the ins and outs of vessels to best operational practices, will take place Tuesday and Wednesday, March 29-30, 2022. The theme this year is “Readying the Fleet and Workforce for the Future.”

EXPANDED EVENT

In 2019, Marine Log expanded the event to include the inland river towboat segment of the industry, leading to an increase in attendance as a result. Nearly 500 people participated in the virtual version of the event last year, a new record.

“TTB is an opportunity to participate in a dialogue with the entire tug, towboat and barge industry’s leadership on key strategic challenges, issues, trends, lessons learned, and new project and technological developments,” says Marine Log Editor-in-Chief Heather Ervin. “The event builds on a long-running series of Tugs & Barges conferences, which we have expanded to cover vessel operations from inland rivers to coastal routes.”

This year’s two-day lineup of expert speakers will cover a number of topics important to tug, towboat and barge owners and operators. An offsite tour will round out the event on Day 2.

Topics include:

  • Workforce issues for readying your fleet;
  • A first-hand look into some of the industry’s newest sustainable tugs and towboats, including the M/V Hydrogen One towboat, the eWolf tug, and the Spartan tug;
  • Container-on-Barge innovations;
  • A look into the current regulatory landscape impacting tug and towboat operations;
  • How escort tugs are adjusting to larger ships;
  • Offshore opportunities for tugs and barges;
  • And more …

In addition to its speakers, TTB 2022 is being supported by a number of sponsors, including Sea Machines Robotics, Motor-Services Hugo Stamp, elkon, TowWorks, JonRie InterTech, Panolin, MOPS, among others to be announced soon.
