Mitsubishi Shipbuilding has delivered the FGSS (Fuel Gas Supply System) for the the first LNG fueled pure car carrier (PCC) to be built in Japan, which is currently under construction for NYK Line at Shin Kurushima Toyohashi Shipbuilding.

The FGSS has been developed by Mitsubishi Shipbuilding utilizing technology developed through its long experience in the construction of LNG carriers, and has been verified for marine use in test engine trials at engine manufacturers.

The FGSS includes LNG fuel tanks, LNG fuel gas supply units and control units., and is delivered in modules. This is expected to contribute to the optimum design of the cargo space and will help the shipyard to shorten the installation period. Additionally, it will allow the control system to be customized to meet the operational needs of the ship owner.

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding has also provided the shipbuilding yard with engineering services and technical support relating to the newbuild’s gas handling.
