Lori Harper promoted to Ingalls Shipbuilding VP of supply chain management

lori_harperHuntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) reports that Lori Harper has been promoted to vice president of supply chain management for the company’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division. In this capacity, Ms. Harper will be responsible for all Gulf Coast supply chain management functions, including sourcing and procurement, inventory control and material operations in support of all Ingalls contracts. She is filling a position that became vacant at the end of 2011.

“Supply chain management is a top priority for controlling cost and schedule, so Lori and her team will play a critical role in meeting our 2012 commitments, including our efforts to exploit the benefits of sourcing integration,” said Chris Kastner, Ingalls’ vice president, business management, and chief financial officer. “Material is a significant cost component of our program commitments, and Lori will be responsible for meeting and improving our material budget performance.”

Ms. Harper brings 25 years of supply chain management-related experience to her role. She joined Ingalls in 2002 and has held leadership positions in multiple areas, including subcontracts and compliance. She served as material program director for LHD 8 and the LPD program. Most recently, she was the director of production control in the central planning organization.

Ms. Harper earned a bachelor of science degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and an MBA from William Carey College.
