BAE San Diego gets $47.2 million Navy contract mod

MARCH 10, 2016 — BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair, San Diego, CA, has been awarded a $47,282,674 modification to a previously awarded, cost-plus-award-fee, incentive-fee contract (N00024-11-C-4400) for USS Cowpens (CG 63) fiscal 2016 special selected restricted availability (SRA).

A special SRA includes the planning and execution of depot-level maintenance, alterations, and modifications that will update and improve the ship’s military and technical capabilities. This modification includes options that, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value to $47,747,675.

Work will be performed in San Diego and is expected to be completed by October 2016.

Fiscal 2016 operation and maintenance (Navy); and fiscal 2015 other procurement (Navy) funding in the amount of $47,282,674 will be obligated at time of award, and funds in the amount of $34,116,104 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, San Diego, is the contracting activity.
