CoCo Yachts wins first order from new Chinese customer

Vessel is being built to a new Coastal Cruiser 350 design

China’s Xiamen Passenger and Tourist Transportation Group has signed a contract for a 43 meter x 10.8 meter Coastal Cruiser 350 aluminum high speed ferry. Designed by Gorinchem, Netherlands, based CoCo Yachts, it will be built by tne Plenty Ships-Yaguang Group’s Zhuhai shipyard.

This ferry is the first CoCo Yachts designed ferry for this customer and will operate between Xiamen and Jinmen (China).

CoCo Yachts says the Coastal Cruiser 350 is a totally new design, specially designed for Xiamen Marine. The hull, including the propeller tunnel, has been designed and optimized by using the in house HPC cluster, running Numeca FineMarine CFD software in order to achieve the best possible performance. Not only has the resistance been optimized for the highest possible efficiency, but seakeeping at 25 knots service speed has also been optimized.

The vessel will be powered by twin MTU 16V2000M72 diesels turning twin fixed propellers via ZF 95355 marine gears.

The interior design will be comfortable for passengers, with low noise and vibrations levels, and high capacity air conditioning system. A total of 210 comfortable economy seats will be placed on the main deck, with 135 business class seats and five VIP seats being provided on the upper deck.
