Promar orders two PSVs from Damen Shipyards

JANUARY 31, 20014 — Geneva, Switzerland, headquartered Promar Shipping Services SA has ordered two platform supply vessels from Damen Shipyards Group. The first of the two Damen PSV 3300 design vessels will be delivered in February 2015 and the second, in August of the same year. They will be built at the Damen Galati shipyard in Romania.

“The PSV 3300 is at the forefront of technology in terms of equipment, being modern and reliable,” says Promar Chartering Supervisor Olivier Meynis de Paulin, commenting on why the company chose a Damen vessel. “These ships are built in line with North Sea standards.”

He says that Promar expects to employ the two vessels in the West African market where the company has been chartering vessels since 2002 when it was established.

Several specifications are being added such as Fire-Fighting Ship 1, ROV preparations, oil spill detection radar and a tank heating system.
