Nakilat takes over management of its LPG carriers, LNG ships to follow

Nakilat LNGJUNE 18, 2012 — Nakilat (Qatar Gas Transport Company) Nakilat has assumed full responsibility for the management and operations of its four VLGCs (very large gas carriers),  adding in-house ship management and operations to its range of marine services.

The full responsibility for the management and operations of Nakilat’s four liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers been transferred from Shell Trading and Shipping Company to Nakilat Qatar Shipping (NSQL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nakilat.

“Nakilat’s long-term goal is to transfer management and operations of all its wholly-owned vessels to its NSQL subsidiary,” Gulf Times quotes a communiqué to the Qatar Exchange as saying.

Nakilat owns 54 LNG vessels, making it the largest LNG fleet owner in the world.
