Opti ExJUNE 25, 2012 —EXMAR Offshore Company, Houston, Texas has entered into an agreement with LLOG Exploration Company L.L.C., Covington, La., to design a new production semi-submersible hull for installation in the Gulf of Mexico in 2014.

The design is based on EXMAR’s proprietary OPTI series of hulls and will be similar to the OPTI-EX, built for EXMAR NV of Belgium and subsequently sold to LLOG Deepwater in 2011, that is now producing the “Who Dat” Field in Mississippi Canyon.

The new hull design will be larger in order to accommodate the anticipated processing requirements of LLOG Exploration and its partners.

The OPTI hull is designed for optimized motions and meets the latest environmental requirements for the Gulf of Mexico.

EXMAR CEO, Nicolas Saverys stated that, “EXMAR is pleased to be selected by LLOG to design a second production facility for the Gulf of Mexico. This deal represents a continuation of our partnership that started with the OPTI-EX® and we appreciate LLOG’s confidence in the OPTI® design as a flexible deepwater production platform.”

EXMAR will provide the OPTI design package, engineering services, project management and construction supervision for the hull.
