COSCO Guangdong to build up to 10 PSVs for U.S. shipowner

cosco psvChina’s COSCO (Guangdon) Shipyard Co., Ltd. is to build up to ten Rolls-Royce design UT 771 CDL Platform Supply Vessels for an as yet unnamed “American shipowner.”

A stock exchange announcement says that shipbuilding contracts for four of the vessels became effective March 15 and are worth over $105 million in total to the shipbuilder. Deliveries of these vessels are set to start in early 2014.

Additionally, commencing March 15, 2013, the shipowner has options to declare up to another six contracts for the construction of identical UT 771 CDL PSVs, with a total value of over $160 million.
