COSCO Dalian Shipyard books $170 million jack-up order

LeTourneau Super 116EAUGUST 13, 2012 —China’s COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard Co. has won a $170 million order to build a jack-up drilling rig based on the LeTourneau Super 116E Class design. Delivery from the shipbuilder is scheduled for the first quarter of 2015.

The order comes from Talland Navigation Limited Corporation, a subsidiary of Foresight Limited (London).

The Rig will be built to ABS classification, with notation A1, and will be a self-elevating drilling unit with a drilling depth of up to 30,000 feet. It will be capable of operating in 350 feet water, with accommodations for up to 120 persons onboard. It will be equipped for efficient operation and layout, optimization of deck space, ease of material handling, and safety of personnel on board.
