London-based business-to-business maritime and offshore media specialist Wake Media has appointed Gavin Lipsith as its new Head of Content.
Lipsith is a veteran journalist and former editor of marine technology titles The Motorship and Marine Propulsion & Auxiliary Machinery and will join Wake Media effective October 1, bringing considerable market knowledge that will assist Wake Media and its clients in aligning their communications with the evolution of the shipping industry.
Steve Parks, Managing Director, Wake Media, said: “Over the past couple of years we have seen a real shift in the maritime industry in the way that content is being delivered and consumed. With an abundance of digital media platforms and apps now available, we need to more than ever ensure we are heard, ensuring that the content we deliver for our clients is engaging and targeted.
“We strive to deliver an optimum service to our clients and the creation of this new role was a significant cog in building on our already strong team. I am delighted to have Gavin on board, his market insight, communications experience and journalistic nature will elevate our ability to give our clients a lead role in media conversations and help shape the industry agenda.”
“Wake Media’s clients are at the heart of an exciting industry, in the middle of unprecedented technological change,” said Lipsith. “I look forward to facing those challenges and opportunities with them as part of this dynamic, and rapidly growing agency.”
As well as helping shape the content agenda for Wake Media’s clients, Lipsith will also provide account management support, reporting to the Head of PR & Communications.
