TY Offshore launches 30,000 bbl FMT oil barge

DECEMBER 17, 2012—TY Offshore, LLC, Gulfport, MS, recently launched the FMT 3248, the fourth of fourteen 297 ft 6 in x 54 ft x 12 ft, 30,000 bbl tank barges for FMT Industries, LLC, one of the several companies within the Florida Marine Group (Florida Marine).

FMT Industries, Mandeville, LA, recently exercised options for four additional barges from its original order of ten. The barges are being built at TY Offshore’s Gulfport, MS, facility. Additional barge launches are expected to follow at 30-day intervals.

In addition, TY Offshore is building five 302 ft x 64 ft Dual Fuel Supply Vessels designed by STX Marine Inc. for Harvey Gulf International Marine (HGIM), New Orleans, LA. If HGIM exercises all of its options, TY Offshore could build up to ten 302 ft PSVs. The shipyard is also building the last four of ten 90 ft MK V patrol boats.
