Seeing increasing growth opportunities in the Americas terminal towage sector, Maersk Group member Svitzer has appointed Rutger Thulin as its new Managing Director for the Terminal Towage Cluster in Americas, spanning Svitzer’s operations in Canada, Peru, Costa Rica, Statia (Sint Eustatius), and the Bahamas.

Thulin is a 14-year A.P. Moller-Maersk Group veteran who has been with Svitzer for seven years and who, for the past four years, has been Managing Director at Svitzer Brazil.

“Terminal towage is a key business segment for Svitzer and represents a notable part of the total towage business in the Americas, with a significant growth potential,” saidArjen Van Dijk, Managing Director, Svitzer Americas. “I am very pleased that Rutger Thulin has agreed to lead our efforts and, together with the rest of the team, work to realise our growth ambitions in the coming years. Although competition is fierce, I firmly believe that our global ownership, footprint and experience, combined with in-depth regional and local knowledge, is an advantage – not only to us – but also to our customers, many of which are large global companies.”
