Strategic Marine makes executive appointments

MARCH 2, 2015 — Specialist shipbuilder Strategic Marine has appointed two senior executives to boost its presence in key international maritime markets.

Jim Fraser and Rob Boersma have both been appointed as business development managers in their regions.

Mr. Fraser will focus on the United Kingdom market and is based in Scotland. Prior to joining Strategic Marine, he held leadership roles in maritime companies such as AMI Marine, Taylors and McCorkills.

Mr. Boersma will be based in Singapore and will specialize in developing the crew and work boat markets in specific regions. He joins Strategic Marine from IHC Asia Pacific.

“With their experience and expertise across the global maritime industry, we believe both Jim and Rob will be great additions to the team and play big roles in achieving Strategic Marine’s goal of being a leading specialist shipbuilding company,” said Reece Newbold, Group Business Development Manager of Strategic Marine.With shipyards in Singapore, Western Australia and Vietnam,  Strategic operates principally in five key sectors, producing crew boats, wind farm service vessels, passenger ferries, patrol boats and modular steel product for global infrastructure, renewables and mining markets.

In 2014 Strategic Marine became part of the Triyards group (see earlier story).
